IN DEVELOPMENT

Ascendancy II will take the same fundamental principles of galactic exploration and encounter that Logic Factory pursued with the original, and modernize and translate them to work in a persistent online multiplayer universe.

Unique species with back histories, large ability trees that provide the player with a wide array of complementary abilities, massive unexplored galaxies, and more original Logic Factory music will remain as essential components of the sequel.

However, utilizing our new in-house development engine, Hydra, as well as building upon these last years of experience and customer feedback the gameplay, 3d effects, artwork, and sound and music will all be enhanced beyond what was possible in the past.

Fire

Fire (working title) will utilize the 3d world creation capabilities of our Hydra development engine to create a game that all of us here have wanted to play, but have been unable to find: a fire fighting simulation that is simple to use, but hard to master.

One will be able to zoom directly up to the blaze fighting action, or pan out for a better view of the overall threat. If the wind picks up from the South you may have to send some crews to cut a fire trail. And if your planes are backing up the front line, you may not be able to use them where a small fire has started to spread in the next county.

Because of Hydra we will be able to create Fire with Triple-A quality, but in a time frame that is dramatically compressed from most big games.

Hydra

Hydra is Logic Factory's new, in-house 3D game engine. After more than a year of effort and with more than $2 million invested Logic Factory has now created a portable, discreet package of developer resources that we are calling Hydra because of it's multiple applications for inputting interactive music, full 3d worlds and the objects and actions that are incorporated into them, and because of its cross platform portability.

The feature list is immense, so suffice it to say that most of our people here believe that the investment placed in Hydra is now paying off in ways that are justifying our highest goals in the computer gaming industry.
